Laurence Larry D. Werber, 83, of Loganville, GA passed away peacefully September 23, 2010. Larry was born September 24, 1926 in Atlanta, GA. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juanita Werber, daughter and son-in-law Karen & Eugene Speirs, daughter Karla Mays, and son Michael Werber all of the Metro Atlanta area. Larry has six grandchildren Ami Schwefler & husband Danny, Erin Speirs, Matthew Mays, Andrew Mays & wife Katie, Caleb Werber and Ian Werber. He has two great-grandchilden Jessica & Jake Schwefler.
Larry loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a proud Marine during The Korean War. Larry received the Letter of Commendation for Military Merit and Good Conduct medal along with several other awards.
In 1950, he began a career in commercial art, excelling in his profession by becoming art director of several national advertising agencies. Larry's advertising art won him numerous awards. In 1970, he turned his talents toward water-color painting. His paintings appear in private and corporate collections including Coco-Cola, Georgia Power, Kimberly-Clark and many others. In 1983, he was named Georgia Artist of Excellence by the Governor.
Larry is greatly loved and will be missed by all of his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 1:30pm at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Pastor Allen Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 4 o'clock until 6 o'clock at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, 770-277-4550.
