William “Bill” Thompson, Jr., 72, of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away on March 14, 2022. He was born in Greenville, Alabama on November 28, 1949. He worked several years as a land surveyor and was a member of Campus Church. Bill loved family and spending time outdoors, especially fishing.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Gwinnett Memorial Park located at 925 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 with his son-in-law Donnie Holliday officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following graveside services at Rhodes Jordan Park Pavilion #1 located at 100 E. Crogan Street, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 until 4 pm.

Bill is survived by his his wife, Arlene Thompson; sister, Diane Thompson Shirah; sister-in-law, Ellen Thompson; sons: Terry (Cindy) DuBois, Joel (Monica) Cammett; daughter-in-law: Jennifer “Sue” DuBois; daughters: Beth (Donnie) Holliday, Sarah (Tim) Dawson, Jessica Parris; grandchildren: Tiffany (Steve), Steven (Sara), Destiney (Jonathon), Amanda (Silas), Summer Jane, Lexie, Jace, Camryn, Reese, Kerrington, Harper; nieces and nephews: Brandon (Judy), Matthew (Margaret), Robert (Jennifer), Laura (Nathan); many loved great grandchildren; and a host of other loved family and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Elsie Thompson, Sr.; his first wife, Wanda Thompson; brother, Judson Thompson; son, Troy DuBois; daughter, Debbie Woody; and son-in-law, Chuck Parris.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to do so may contribute to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Campus Church.

  1. Bill will be surely be missed by so many people. Bill, was my brother in law. I remember Bill’s beautiful smile that lit up the room as he entered. His kind heart, his loving ways, his forgiving nature will always be remembered. Bill was a godly man who exhibited the love of Jesus to all he came in contact with. Little children loved him and were attracted to him because of his gentle spirit. We have lost a wonderful man, but God has gained a good and faithful servant.
