William Lingle “Billy” Russell, 73, was born on June 17th, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia.

He retired from Rockdale Co. Sheriff’s Department, was employed with Wages and Sons Funeral Home and Ed’s Pawn Shop. He was a member of Truth Chapel Church in Loganville, Georgia.

His death is preceded by his parents Fred and Mildred Russell. He is survived by his wife Patricia Russell of 36 years, son Lance Russell, daughters Shelly Reynolds (Bill McCalla) and Dana Brooks (Joe Brooks), sister Sonja Russell Gray (Bubba Gray), grandchildren Brittany, Josh, Lindsey, Bradley, James, and seven great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service to Honor the Life of Billy will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8th at Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel with Pastor Cortt Chavis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Refreshments will be available between 12-1 PM. The procession and Entombment will follow to the Westview Abbey in Atlanta at 1 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to Truth Chapel Church 3425 Loganville Highway, Loganville, GA 30052 in memory of Billy Russell.
