Captain's Log... Star Date. Aug 15th, 2014, a beautiful bright day, not a cloud in the sky. The whole clan piled into the Excursion and headed for Stone Mountain. A journey that took less than an hour. Whilst we were looking forward to the enjoying the Mountain, we all were more interested in the raiding the picnic baskets and the coolers. After a well deserved and thoroughly enjoyable picnic we headed up to the Mountain and righteously enjoyed the day filled with raucous fun. Jasmine's inimitable humor left us perplexed. And Monica's dry wit was drier than usual. Arjun was, well, quietly awe struck and concentrated on having fun and walked up the mountain. All the young 'uns did. The "elders", being smart,as we undoubtedly, are took the cable car up AND down the mountain. Narendrapatel found a spot to do some spot yoga and meditation in a nice shady spot. He basically took a well deserved nap. A sweet cherished memory. In the photos are are Narendrapatel, Rohiniben, Monica, Jasmine, Arjun, Dhruv and Jaymama.

To our lovely Narendra masa - this has to be a fave memory of your visit back in 2018. We enjoyed an unusually hot summer in England where we celebrated our numerous May birthday's at an afternoon tea in soho. I will always remember your excitement at a day out in London which included: - somehow convincing all the Harrods food hall staff to give you free chocolates “oh excuse me this is my niece please can she try a piece” - I’m pretty sure those were a tenner a chocolate hahaha - walking through soho and settling ourselves at the bar in Kettners where you enjoyed a cheeky drink and shared your memories of living in London - every time we went past Kentish Town, you trying to remember where you used to live - most of all just your child-like, infectious enthusiasm which carried us through the day despite being hot and tired. We will miss you dearly Narendramasa and we are so proud of the heroic fight you put up for years. You are an inspiration to us all. Thank you for always being generous, kind, wise and loving to all of us, and for taking extra special care of us (especially when we came to visit). Now I hope you enjoy some well earned rest and raise a little glass of something. Lots of love Sapna x

Dear Masa

I first met Masa as a young boy, with swept back thick black hair and intentions to marry my Masi. Over the years it seemed to be a theme, that Masa would arrive radiant in face, full of hair, slowly getting younger and appearing healthier. It is testament to his values of clean living, healthy eating that he managed to fight his condition, when others would have folded. His legacy to all of us is that we should always be looking after ourselves… in advance. Most of all that is that you should never, ever, give up… I believe that he learnt this from watching sports: I remember him watching the 6 nations Rugby and jubilantly shouting in admiration when players got back up after being tackled. I also remember Masa making me ecstatic when he bought me something called a computer! A Spectrum ZX Sinclair. A very special gift given to me with generosity. I loved playing tennis for hours and hours. Apparently he thought of me first: that’s how you make a boy very happy. This happy memory was to be topped, a few years ago, when were kicking back with a few drinks and chewing the fat for hours and hours about Cricket. Oh boy. I was shocked to find a kindred spirit who loved the game so much. Last week at Lords, I exclaimed that Masa had been a steward there, seeing the mighty West Indians and managing the crowds. What sweet memories he must have had. We will miss his gentle spirit, his intelligence and most of all his kindness. He was always interested in what was going on in your life, a true gentleman. I have witnessed that he has passed on many of his great qualities, onwards, to my Cousin Sisters. Love to them and my Masi too for they will need strength and our love at this difficult time. Its time now to Rest in Peace Masa Ohm Shanti Ohm 🙏 Love Jason xx
