Wesley Allen Anderson, Jr, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 26, 2013, at the age of 80. He was a native of Stone Mountain, Georgia, graduating from Stone Mountain High School in 1954. After serving 2 years with the United States Army in Alaska, he returned to Stone Mountain to begin his life long career as a phone man and start a family. He retired after 30 years of service from Southern Bell and AT&T, but continued his phone service career as a contractor for Napa Auto Parts. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, coaching little league football, providing rides to dance lessons and attending many grandchildren's concerts and sporting events. His hobbies included woodworking in his shop and showing off his restored 1965 Chevelle Malibu at local and regional car shows. Known as Junior, Dad, and Granddaddy to his family and Wesley and Andy to his friends, he will be missed very much. He was proceeded in death by his loving son, Dinny Allen Anderson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Barbara, and his 4 children: Wes Tammy Anderson of Conyers, GA, Brad Patti Anderson of Wheaton, IL, Jennifer Archie Ballard of Jacksonville, FL, and Jason Amber Minor of Villa Rica, GA and his 11 grandchildren: Preston Anderson, Parker Anderson, Casey Shaddix, Bailey Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Murphy Ballard, Caleb Minor, Colin Minor, Madox Minor, Kayla Miller and Arabella Miller plus many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Wages & Sons Stone Mountain Chapel. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements by Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain, Georgia 770 469-9811.

  4. Condolences to Barbara, and all the rest of the family. Junior was both loved and respected by us. He will be missed. You could always count on him being there when you lost a family member. He was a pallbearer for my mother, Helen Renolds twenty-five years ago. His stepmother was our aunt. His humor and quick wit always made us laugh when we were around him.

  6. I love you Jr.. You were a Uncle that would love to call and talk. I will miss you and your wonderful fudge. Say hi to Mom and Dad for me. I will always remember the 4th of July cookouts and watching the fireworks from the front yard when I was little.

  7. Wes, I am so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a wonderful man. My parents thought the world of him. When he was with Bellsouth my Mom Mildred Johnson called him every time the phone would act up and he would be right there and end of staying for hours and drinking coffee. You all are in our Prayers.
