A great lady, a true Christian, a wonderful grandmother to my husband. She always was there for her family. She lived a long happy life but still does not make her passing easier. She is in heaven with her lord and loved ones. Prayers for her family during this time of mourning. She will be missed.
We love you Nanny and will miss you so very much. You were always so good to us and welcomed us in your heart with open arms. We have peace in knowing that you are young, happy and healthy again in heaven.
Nanny you were a great woman, and raised a great man to be my dad. I remember thanksgiving at your house like it was just last year. Very strong woman even though it’s hard to say goodbye I know you are with God and that’s exactly where you want to be.
Nanny you will be greatly missed! You come from a long line of strong Christian women. I am truly blessed by your love for family. You accepted all of us as your own. I hope we can continue on with some of your traditions. I have some of your recipes I try to cook during the holidays but could never make it quite as good as you. I can still remember you sitting on the stool in the kitchen directing me in what to do next for the recipes. How we would put more tables together as the family grew with each marriage and new birth of babies coming into the picture. Hoping that we never loose that love that you always showed. Remembering you each day as we continue this Journey without you. Knowing you are walking whole again with the Lord and those you love, makes it easier to let you go. This quote is you through and through in what the Lord said “job well done good and faithful servant”. You have successfully completed a life full; full of love for those you love, and full of family. All we can do is hope that we also have enough; enough love to share with those with us and enough hope to continue on. We are blessed to have you as our nanny. We love you and will miss you. Bessie was my cousin – my Father, Dillis S. Young and Bessie’s mother, Mamie, were bother and sister. Bessie was always more like an aunt to me all these years and I have many wonderful memories of her at family reunions and just visits to her house. I lost contact with her these last few years and have been trying to find a way to contact Jimmy to find out about her but was unable to locate him. I just today received an email from another cousin telling me she had passed away in February so I did a search of obituary’s of Wages Funeral home and found her obit. I am so sorry I did not know about her passing because I would certainly have been at her service. She was a great lady and loved her family and will be missed. God Bless her family!!
So sorry to know this……had not heard anything from her or her family in years……always thought of her and wondered how she was. Our sympathy to the family in Bessie’s passing. She was a favorite….always fun and such a smart, strong woman. Loved her. Sorry we did not know about the funeral. Ed and Patty Young
so sorry to learn of Bessie’s passing. Loved her and always enjoyed knowing her. She was a loving relative of Ed’s. We really wish we could have known about her illness, passing and burial. Our sympathies to the family. Ed and Patty Young, (Dillis Young’s son and wife)
Bessie was a sweet Christian friend. My Mother-Annie Chaffin and Bessie were good friends. She was our neighbor for years on Austin Dr. Have some sweet memories of her and her family.
