Brenda Folds Storey, residing in Sugar Hill, Georgia, passed away on January 9, 2024, after a long battle with leukemia. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gary Folds, Mother, Eloise Cox Folds, and Father, Bobeddy Folds.
Born on June 1, 1947, in Atlanta, Brenda was a force of nature. She excelled in school, played sports, and was a cheerleader at Murphy High School. She built friendships from childhood that were lifelong and all her friends would tell you that she was their best friend. Brenda married in 1967, and, later, welcomed her son Kevin, followed by her daughter Kipley. Brenda was devoted to her family and involved in everything her children did, from the PTA and Room Mom responsibilities to coaching softball and cheerleading. Despite frequent moves because of her husband’s work, Brenda was active in the community wherever they lived, even in Brazil for five years.
Returning to Atlanta in 1987, Brenda became a realtor, working for Harry Norman Realtors for many years. She left Harry Norman Realtors to work with her daughter at Storey Morrow Company in 2007. Brenda was an exceptional real estate agent, earning a multitude of awards and accolades including being named #1 Individual Agent in 2005 for NAMAR (Northeast Atlanta Metro Association of Realtors) and earning her Triple Phoenix Award in 2019, one of the highest honors for realtors.
Above all, Brenda loved her family. She took great joy in seeing her children grow and marry, welcoming Jenny and Charles into the family. Equally joyous was becoming a grandmother to Amber, Zoe, Ansley, and Chase. She delighted in participating in her grandchildren’s lives and activities. The icing on the cake was becoming a great-grandmother to Declan, Blake, Collins, and Elijah.
In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Brenda is survived by her aunts, Patricia Cox and Joanne Wright, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Brenda was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to countless others. She loved fiercely and those who knew her felt it. Brenda will be missed, but her family knows that she was received in Heaven and welcomed in by her Heavenly Father and those who preceded her.

Our bond was stronger than blood for decades with a friendship & bond that could not be broken by time or distance so I feel I’ve lost a part of my soul…my history. Grief is the price we pay for knowing & loving someone like you. You will be missed by such a large sphere. Comfort & prayers to Kipley & Kevin & their families for this monumental loss. Love ya BS💜
I have known Brenda for many years, I always appreciated her wisdom and friendship. I loved listening to her stories and outings and how she gushed with pride when she spoke about her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed….

Always a smile on her face, a very welcoming person
Her smile was her trademark. A great pleasure to know her and she will be missed
I have known Brenda for 70 years. We grew up in the same southeast section of Atlanta (East Atlanta)and attended Burgess Elementary and Murphy High School together. The last time I saw Brenda, in fact was at a Murphy reunion. My best memory of Brenda is that she was one of three “Greencove Girls”. Brenda, along with Devon and Leila all lived on the same street and I couldn’t wait to help them cross my street each morning as a School Patrol Crossing Guard. These three won many a schoolboy’s heart. Long-time friends are the best friends and Brenda was one of the best.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family now. Sending our love and deepest sympathy for the loss of your loving Mama. May the memories of her spirit and kindness sustain you all through the days ahead.

Brenda. What a beautiful soul who loved her family so very much. She will be missed by so many! But I know she is pain free and in the arms of Jesus. ❤️
I had the pleasure of working with Brenda for around 5 years at Belk in Cumming, Georgia years ago. I was in my early 20s at the time – and yet I still found it challenging to match Brenda’s energy and tenacity. She truly WAS a force of nature. She was bold and capable and intelligent. I can’t imagine her being bad at anything and she worked circles around all of our coworkers. She had a beautiful smile and a fiery spirit. I so enjoyed hearing her talk about her family and I’d think about how lucky they were to have her. I, myself, consider myself extremely fortunate to have known her. Thank you for being an excellent role model, Brenda.
Brenda was my mentor when we arrived in Brazil. She showed me all the “ins” and “outs” of navigating the Brazilian markets, people, and everyday lifestyles successfully. She took on the cheerleading job of our school EAC. All who have known Brenda are better people because of her !!! Rest in peace Brenda with fond memories the Niccum Family.
Brenda was the mom of my best friend, Kipley and like a second mother to me. I met the Storey family in Brazil in 1983. Brenda was a constant in my life and incredibly generous to me and my entire family. Rest in peace Brenda and deepest condolences to Kip, Kevin and the entire family.
What a wonderful blessing it has been to read all the loving messages written here in honor of Brenda! She was definitely one of my dearest friends in high school at M H S and I was blessed to be considered a part of the Greencove girls! I loved the three of them and spent much time at their homes on Greencove with their dear parents! Brenda was a very special person with many talents and our dear friendship stayed warm and blessed for many years! I will miss her bright smile and wonderful happiness! She is blessed to be in Heaven now! I do pray for all her family members as they feel so many blessed memories! God bless all who loved Brenda!
There is a sad vacant spot in my heart. I have known you since we were little kids. I treasure you as a dear friend and will be missed forever. For now you are in the hands of the Lord and we will see you one day.
