Timothy Peter Dravis, 48 years old, lost his fight against pancreatic cancer on December 27, 2012 in Lawrenceville, GA at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born to Lt. Colonel Anthony and Carolyn Dravis in San Antonio, TX on February 5, 1964 to an Air Force family. The family moved to Wiggins, MS when Tim was 9 years old, and he attended Stone County High School and university in Mississippi. Tim graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989 with his MBA. His most important discovery during college was his wife, Rebecca.
After college, Tim moved to the Atlanta area to work. He was in software project management for 10 years and later opened a patent development business. His most recent years were spent in educational software. His greatest achievement was his ministry service at Norcross 1st UMC, and his league coaching activities with his son and daughter.
Tim had been diagnosed in April, 2009 and immediately began to aggressively seek a way to beat the cancer, although only 2% of pancreatic cancer patients live 5 years past their diagnosis. One of his comments was, "I want to be a 2 per center."
Tim started a journal of his thoughts and prayers and began his cancer outreach ministry. His Caring Bridge posts have brought peace and encouraged thousands. https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/draviscancersmackdown His life has touched many in his local community as well as around the world.
