  3. Joy, how thankful I am that Joy and other friends from LFUMC Wesley Class, came to our home in Gainesville last Spring. Joy was her sweet smiling self. That is how I will remember her.

  4. May God bless and comfort the McMillan family during this time of sorrow and loss.

Joy truly was such a joy to know and be in her presence all these years! Before she became sick, she was a devoted member of our Sunday school class and a real blessing and friend to all of us! We have all missed Joy these past months as she was too weak to attend services, but she was always present in our hearts and prayers.

She always had a smile that would light up a room. Each of us who’s life she touched will miss her dearly.

  13. On behalf of my mom, Lena Chavez, (sister of Curtis and sister-in-law to Joy), we want to express our sincere condolences to the entire family. Aunt Joy was just that, a joy! She was a quiet and gentle spirit and she and Uncle Curtis were a good influence on me growing up. May God comfort each heart. Amen.

  14. So sorry to hear about your mom & Nana prayers for all of you during this time. Mrs. Joy was a sweet lady. Will never forget her sweet smile! ?

  15. Kirk and family, I am so sorry to hear bout your mom passing away. She was such a sweet lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

  16. Joy. Larry and I are so thankful for the 39 years of friendship with your family. Many good memories and prayers shared. Your total honesty and integrity I so admired. If you ever had doubts/slight regrets for something, it was probably me who was the instigator… the yard sale I talked you into; you never had another one. When Curtis passed and I thought you needed color in your bedroom, we painted it blue. Did you wait a couple years before you went back to beige? We loved movies, but I know at least two that we walked out of due to not being up to your values. May your good values, and strong faith go forth in your sons and grand children. Our prayers will continue for them. Love and comfort, Toni and Larry

  17. Not many of us know anyone who lives out their name any more than Joy did as she had a true joy within her. She would be unashamed for others to know from whence that joy came – from her Lord Jesus! She had an unshakeable faith that inspired others. Joy loved her Curtis and her boys and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. We have fond memories of times with Curtis and Joy which will be remembered. We extend love and peace to Joy’s family at this time, particularly Kirk, Mark, and Eric who surely know their parents are finally reuniting!

  18. On behalf of Waymon and Elwanda McMillon and The Stieber family ZAunt Joy was as Al ssid a Joy. So sweet. Many memories growing up and spending. time with family. And getting in trouble with Mark! ( remember our golf cart incident?). You three were my brothers. I wish we could be there. My dads brother Curtis was my favorite and aunt Joy wss my mothers cousin and I loved her. God give you strength and comfort and know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

  19. I was so sad to hear that Ms. McMillan passed away. She was very much a part of my childhood. I am praying for peace and comfort for the family during this time.

  20. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Your mom was such a sweet and caring lady. Keeping you in my prayers.

  21. Mark, Kirk, and Eric. We haven’t seen each other in so long, but I too remember the days in Hornbeck with Granny and Paw Paw when all the cousins, aunts, and uncles were there. They are fond memories to be cherished. Your mom, my Aunt Joy, and your dad, my Uncle Curtis were always very sweet to me. So sorry for your loss.

  22. Kirk,
I am sorry to hear about your mother’s passing, even though I did not know her well I know that she had a very kind nature which I see reflected in you. I know she is very proud of you and knew how much you loved her. God bless, your friend, Aaron.

  23. Sending my Sincere condolences to the Mcmillian family. From all the posts, I know that Ms. McMillan was a very loved woman. God too lost his son in death (John 3;16) so he completely understands how you are feeling. This is the very reason why God promises that he will put an end to all pain, suffering, death ( Revelation 21:4) and also resurrect or bring back to life our loved ones who have passed away.( Acts 24:15) I hope this brings much needed comfort.
