Frances Cooper was born on July 13, 1934, in Verbena, Alabama to the late Elmore and Lula Cooper. Frances was raised in Birmingham, Alabama and resided in Atlanta, Georgia. Frances was a product of Birmingham Public Schools. She graduated from Miles College in 1956, and received her Master’s Degree from Atlanta University. Frances impacted the lives of 1st graders in the Fulton County School System for 37 years. She retired from teaching at High Point Elementary in 1996. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Her favorite television church services were Lakewood (Joel Olsteen) and Second Ponce De Leon (Dock Hollingsworth). On June 28, 2022, God, in His infinite wisdom, separated the body and spirit of Frances Cooper. Her spirit abides and surrounds us; her body is now at rest. Frances was preceded in death by her brothers; Elmore Cooper Jr.; Bertrand Cooper; Curtis Cooper Sr.; sister, Helen Cooper Hunter; nephew Curtis  Cooper Jr.; and great nephew Eldridge Laidler. Frances leaves to cherish her memory; sister-in-law Helen Cooper; Four devoted nieces, Gayle; Alvia; Kimberley; and Melanie; Five great nieces, Rhonda; Keivia (Derrick); Kristin; Kimberley Anne; and Kamryn; One great-great niece, Dakota; Two great-great nephews, Hudson, and Hunter and a host of other relatives and friends.

  2. CandleImageSome people are born with a joyful spirit and Frances Cooper was one! I called her “Aunt Frances” because she was sister to the man who married my Aunt Joan(Curtis Cooper). The Lord places people in your life for a reason and Frances Cooper always brought a smile to your face. She had that ability to bring joy to others. Her love and kindness was a blessing from God! She was a reflection of God’s love for us all! Deepest condolences to the family!
