Grace Carter, age 106, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Monday, June 15, 2015. Grace was the last of 12 siblings. Grace was active in several groups at First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, Lawrenceville Garden Club and Two Bridge Clubs in Lawrenceville. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Grace worked as a receptionist for Sammon Funeral Home and later for the Georgia Executive & Tax Service both in Lawrenceville.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Rev. Sheri Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Grace, to First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, c/o Youth Ministry, 395 West Crogan St., Lawrenceville, GA 30046. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 pm at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550. My thoughts are with all of you. Miss Carter was such an important part of my childhood. I loved her dearly. I think of her everyday when I see the vase she gave me many years ago and the blanket she lovingly knitted for my high school graduation.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Miss Carter was such a special lady to so many people. Years ago she used to babysit for our children who are now grown and have children of their own. She was truly a southern lady who lived a full life serving others and her church. We were all blessed by knowing her and having her in our lives.
To the Carter family, please accept our condolences for the loss of someone so dear to you. We would like to share a Bible passage that has often comforted us – it is in Revelation chapter 21 verse 4. Again, you have our sympathy.
