Lewis grew up in Carroll County, Maryland. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corp from 1953 to 1955. He attended Johns Hopkins University and pursued careers in Research & Development Engineering and Field Engineering until his retirement in 1998. Over the years, Lewis was an active volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America and Habitat for Humanity. He loved all sports, both as a participant and spectator, he was a builder of all things, and an avid gardener and reader. Most of all, he loved and cared for his family, his friends and his church.
Lew was a wonderful gentleman who could be looked up to as a model of Christian Faith in action. It was a privilege to know him and be in his presence. He will be greatly missed. We pray for comfort and peace for his family.

Uncle Lewis was a blessing to us all: a loving husband and father, and of course, a good uncle to me. It’s lovely to know he will rest among the garden he tended and loved so well there at the church.. Just want to let you all know you are in my thoughts and prayers as we grieve our great loss, and his great gain. Love, Doug and Denise Lowther
Our prayers for God’s peace are with all of you during this time of loss.
Lew was a dear friend and coworker. On many occasions, he helped me both personally and professionally. Although in later years, I only got to see him once a year at the waffle house, I will still miss him. Our prayers are with the family.

Lew was my mentor as well as a friend.
Remember the years together in Field Engineering and could not find a better teacher to introduce me to the field. Our prayers are with you.

We are thinking of you and your family today. Lewis was my Best Man back in “61” and I was his. We were friends since the first grade in Hampstead School. His loss sinks deep into my heart. May God give you his peace, Mame. We love you.
