Helen Wellmaker Morgan, aged 79, of Loganville passed on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. She was born in Stone Mountain, GA on Wednesday, January 22, 1941. She was the daughter of the late J.B. and Mary Brooks Wellmaker. She was preceded in death by son, Harold (Hal) Morgan in 2017, brother Larry Wellmaker, and brother-in-law David Ferguson. She ran Helen’s beauty shop for 30 plus years and was a member of Valley Brooke Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Douglas Morgan of Loganville, GA, brother Bill (June) Wellmaker of Snellville, GA, and sister Carolyn Ferguson of Daytona Beach, FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 7, 2020 from the Wages and Sons Stone Mountain Chapel with Pastor Tim Wellmaker and George Domanski officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends at the Stone Mountain Chapel from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Yaarab Shrine for the children’s hospital 400 Ponce de Leon Ave, Atlanta, GA 30308. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wagesandsons.com.

I’m so sorry to hear about Helen. I grew up in Stone Mountain and she was my Mother’s hair dresser. Helen gave me my first perm when I was 10 years old. She was such a sweet lady. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

My family and I loved Mrs Helen like a grandmother!! She was such a dear sweet neighbor of ours for 11 years. She adored my children and often brought us delicious treats and meals. We will truly miss her!

My family and I considered Mrs Helen family. She was a dear, sweet neighbor who adored my children. She would spoil us with treats and meals. One time she gave us a pack of Oreos because she didn’t want to send us home empty handed. It was funny because you could tell Mr Doug wanted the Oreos. We will truly miss her!

I’m so sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort help you during this difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4 & Psalms 83:18). Jesus prayed for God’s Kingdom to come because He knew it would intervene to solve all mankind’s problems even sickness and death. (Revelation 21:3,4 & Daniel 2:44).

Helen was a very funny lady. She used to say the funniest things . I would talk to her when she walked Bo past my house. I miss seeing her sitting in the yard with Bo.
