John “Mickey” Shockley age 69 of Snellville passed away August 4, 2017. Mickey loved riding his Harley and watching sports. He worked for over 30 years with DeKalb County as a Police Officer, Homicide Detective and retired as Director of DeKalb County Medical Examiners. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Shockley, Colorado and Samantha J. Shockley, Cumming, GA; brother, James M. Shockley, Lithonia; granddaughter, Janell Echols, Rome, GA. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel. Pastor Micheal Sims will officiate. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 3715 Northside Parkway NW Atlanta, GA 30327 or COPD Foundation 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd. Miami, FL 33134. The family will receive friends Tuesday before the service from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy. Lawrenceville. 770-277-4550.

Hello I’m sorry for your loss but I would like to read and encouraging scripture with you it comes from 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 verse 3 and 4 and it says praise be to the god of father and our Lord Jesus Christ the father of Tender Mercies and the God of All Comfort who comforts Us in all our trials so that we may be able to confront others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we received from God
