Joan Elizabeth Lane, age 79, of Snellville, Georgia died Sunday, December 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Lane, Sr. She is survived by sons, Ned Lane, Richard Lane and Bruce Lane and wife Amy; daughter, Joanne McCardle and husband Doug; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Eileen Reilley and Alice Schatzle. Mrs. Lane was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Stone Mountain, GA. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

There could not be a more amazing lady. I have known her all my life and I feel blessed. She was a great mother and friend. She will be missed but not forgotten.
Richard, I was saddened to learn this morning of the passing of your mother. I, like you, was looking forward to her sharing more time in Savannah reigning over some of the great gatherings at your home.
There is really nothing to prepare you for such a time no matter when it occurs. Know your friends join in mourning the loss of such an endearing lady.
