Celebrating the Life of a Man Who Wore Many Hats

This is the life of LaShunne Johnson.  However, family and friends affectionately called him ‘Lil Shaun’.

Shaun’s story began September 25, 1977, the first and only child born to Michelle Thompson and Zether LaShunne Johnson in Chicago, Illinois …where he grew up, attended elementary school and accepted Christ.

Silly, Eager, Adventurous, Energetic, Smart, Loving, Cool but Fun are just a few words that describe him.

As a child Lil Shaun loved to play little league baseball, ride bicycles, and hang out with his cousins. He was among the youngest of many cousins and was picked on a lot but never shied away from going to Grandma’s house. Lil Shaun was great with his hands, and he loved building model cars and puzzles.

Shaun left Chicago and moved to the Tri-City area of Washington state with his mom, siblings, and many other family members. There he attended Kennewick High. He met his first girlfriend, and his 1st child was born (who preceded him in death). At the age of 23 he left the Tri-Cities for Atlanta where more family was there to greet him.  This is where he made his home and expanded his beautiful family.

Shaun wore many hats…he worked security for a few well-known hip-hop artists, he even ventured into wholesale real estate, home repair and remodeling, and home inspections but since the age of 13 his passion was cutting hair. He was a Master Barber by profession and had many clients who loved him.

His infectious personality and engaging smile have touched the lives of many. His desire to help those less fortunate and share his blessings with others was evidence of his good nature and big heart.

He will be joined in paradise with his grandparents Zethel Britt and Bobbie Aaron, his grandmother Beatrice Williams, his daughter Ashantae Michelle and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

On Friday, May 27, 2022, Shaun was called home. He leaves behind to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy, his four children Treyreese, Alyssa, Aniaya and Tea, his mother Michelle, his father Zether, his siblings Andre, D’Andrea, Alexandria, Shauna, and Darius and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
