March 7, 2002 ~ April 28, 2021

Born in: Lawrenceville, Georgia
Resided in: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Leah was born in Lawrenceville on March 7, 2002 the second child to her proud parents Rick and Marie Veal. She attended Collins Hill and Phoenix High Schools where she met many of her friends. As a young girl Leah was a cheerleader for Collins Hill and enjoyed movies, playing funny games with her Mom, applying makeup and much to her parents chagrin periodically changing her hair color.

Our Sweet Pea affectionately called by her Dad or BeBe known by her silly Uncle were some of the endearing nicknames of this sweet child.

Leah enjoyed many family reunions with the extended Veal family and fun Thanksgiving and Christmas evenings around her Granddaddy Coot’s bond fires. She enjoyed her many trips to Tybee Island with her Mema and cousins and Christmas Eve dinners filled with king crabs legs, presents and laughter.

Like most teenagers she loved the independence of driving to friends’ houses and around town when she got her driver’s license. And like most of us she enjoyed music and her phone. Unlike most of us she had a soft spot for the underdog and was compelled to protect and stick up for her friends and was quick to offer a safe haven for them.

Although she loved her family and friends her favorite companion was her dog Pepper. Pepper followed her around the house and she even trained her to lay in the bed like a human with her head on a pillow and covered with blankets.

Leah is survived by her loving parents Rick and Marie and her brother Stuart Veal of Lawrenceville, Ga. Her grandmothers Mary Frank (Pank) Veal of Gray, Ga and Marie Georganakis of McDonough, Ga. Her Aunt Barbie (Jim) Ferrelle of Alpharetta, Ga, Barry (Diane) Veal of Gray, GA; Brannen (Amy) Veal of St. Simons Ga, Sharon (Marty) Schilling of Peachtree City, GA, Thomas Georganakis of Brooklyn, NY; many first cousins and friends. She was a caring and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend.

Leah was loved by all and will be greatly missed. We love you Leah and will miss you forever until we meet again.

Over the years since I have been working with Rick, I saw Leah grow up to be a beautiful young lady. So sad that her life was cut too soon. May the God of all comfort continue to be with you all as you endure this time. The pain will lessen as time goes on, but you will always have your sweet memories to think of. Love to you all.
