Linda Marie (nee Wehlage) Baron, age 78, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2002, after a long illness. She was the wife of James R Baron, Jr. (J.R.) and would have celebrated 52 years of marriage in May.
Linda was born on October 20, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Alphonse H. and Florence C. Wehlage. Linda is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Matlack and her son, Michael Robert Baron.
She is survived by her husband, J. R. Baron; daughter, Cynthia Anne Haire and a son, Thomas David; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Diane and Cynthia Hope Haire; sister, Norma Lauber; brother-in-law, Fred Matlack; four nephews and one niece.
Linda was active in her children’s activities including scouting, music, sports and other school activities. She was also very active in her various church ministries such as women’s ministries, health and wellness, Christmas and Halloween programs for the children.
She also supported her husband’s activities in the Knights of Columbus, and in his professional life by attending conventions and trade shows in cities throughout the United States.
The family will be receiving friends between 10:00 and 12:00 on April 19, 2022, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, and a Mass of Celebration will be held at 1:00 pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 600 Mountain View Drive, Stone Mountain. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Snellville, GA.
Flowers will be appreciated and, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
