William Thomas Norris Jr., age 89, of Monroe, GA passed away Monday, April 22, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Oney Norris; children, Linda Dillon, Michael Norris, and Jeffrey Norris; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. After retiring from the Air Force with 27 years of service, Bill taught and coached basketball at Avondale High School. He held a 9-year varsity record of 162-54 a winning percentage of .750 and a state AAAA tournament appearance in 1976. Each of those years, at least one of his players won a college scholarship. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Dr. Lamar Holley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, April 25, at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046, 770-277-4550.
