Richard Grant Owen age 63 of Pine Lake, passed away Sunday. Born in Forest Park, Georgia on January 7, 1949, he was the son of the late Guy and Margaret Owen of Loganville. Richard was a 1967 graduate of Avondale High School, a history buff and a die hard Georgia Tech fan. Surviving are wife of over 40 years Diane Wilson Owen, daughter, Rachel Owen; brothers and sister in laws-- Jeff and Nancy Owen, and Todd and Pam Owen, one grand daughter Elizabeth Owen. Funeral Services are 11 am Thursday January 12, 2012 at Pine Lake Baptist Church with burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Wages & Sons Stone Mtn. Chapel from 5 til 8 pm on Wednesday January 11, 2012.

    Richard was very introspective. Always curious about life and searching for inner peace. I know you, Lizzie and your entire family will miss him.

  7. My dad. What can you truely say about a man who was already amazing! He was loved by so many great people. I’m not just talking about my mom and daughter and myself. I’m talking about his relatives and his church family. He will be truely missed each and everyday! But he is in a much better place! A place he loved so dearly! He is back with his mom and dad forever! I know he is missed. I miss him everyday! I love you daddy! We will all see you again someday!

  8. Richard was a great guy. Loved going to rhe Owens house and playing ball with him and his brother Jeff on Forest Glen Circle back in the day. He was such a good fellow and so good hearted and funny!
