I haven’t seen Mike in 32 years but we reconnected thru Facebook and I enjoyed several discussions about life and he was clear on how much he loved his family. He was taken from us to early but we are thankful for good memories.

Today is the day they will lay you to rest. You will be missed by so many. I am glad I got the chance to see you again at the reunion and reconnect thru social media. Sending Lisa much love and prayers. Wishing all of you strength and peace. A man with your sense of humor and good nature is a rare breed…heaven has gained what we have lost but we shall all be together again someday.

Mike, one of the first people I met as a lonely 14 yr old girl who had just moved to HH many yrs ago. I remember riding around with others, us all pack in your little MG. I will never forget us getting shot at down near Point Comfort and how we still laughed about it 30 yrs later when I saw you at one of the reunions a couple of yrs ago. I have so many other memories of you, all are wild, crazy, fun and make me laugh. UT mostly I will remember your kindness.
I can’t believe you are no longer here. Still having trouble processing, here today-gone tomorrow. I will never forget you Mike. I never knew Lisa very well but my prayers are for strength for her now as she lives through this loss and the mutual friends that were close to you. I am so sorry your true love went on already. You are such a good heart I know you will see him again. You are the best thing ever to happen to him. I guess we are supposed to fill the emptiness with memories. At least you have plenty of those.

I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with Mike, but whenever he was in Deland visiting with my grandparents and with his dad and my Aunt Connie, we had a good time together.
I still remember when he and I were trying to get an old WW II machine gun bullet open. We set off the primer in the process, and accidentally cut his thumb, but all was well. I think he and I were similar, in that aspect of couriosity.
I will miss him.
