Rebecca Everett, known to friends as Becky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 91. Becky had been recovering from an infection she had in early September. A native of Atlanta, Becky graduated from Commercial High School and went to work at Citizens and Southern Bank (Bank of America) where she retired in 1983. Becky later went on to work at Lawrenceville Elementary School as the Front Office Clerk but retired from there in 1991 so she could devote herself to being “Mimi” to her seven grandchildren who loved having her a part of their lives. Becky is lovingly survived by her children Duane Blalock (Brynne) and Alison Samuels (Mark) and her 6 grandchildren: Chase Dalton, Dana Brazdo, Erin McAuley, Connor Dalton, Hank Blalock, and Alyssa Blalock and her 7 wonderful great grandchildren. Her world was her family. Becky was preceded in death by husbands Henry Alton Blalock and Dewey E Everett and granddaughter, Jordan Dalton. Becky’s favorite saying was “When I die, do not put Miss on my tombstone because I didn’t miss anything in life.” With that said, Becky’s Celebration of a Life Well Lived will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Mac Palmer officiating, Interment will follow at Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville, GA. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. What a treat in my life to have known Mrs. Everett. Such a sweet and kind lady and a lover of life! I only knew her for a short time working with The Circle of Friends at Hebron Church but I feel like I knew her much longer. My prayers are with you during this time of grief.

  2. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Aunt Becky was a loving person who adored her family. She will be missed because the world needs more people like her. Hugs to all her children and grandchildren

  3. From the years between about 10 and 20 Becky was my other mother
Very important years in a young mans life. Spent more time in her kitchen than at home. She taught me and Duane to be men As she allowed us to take advantage of her. She loved me. But not as much as I loved her. I will never forget her. I’m 65 and no one influenced me more

  4. With my heart felt sympathy for you Duane, Alison and all of your family!!! My she be at peace in Heaven. Prayers for all of you!!!

  5. Duane & Alison, My deepest sympathy to your entire family. I remember your mother as friendly and kind and a mom who took no nonsense. First time I ever had sweet tea ( I was probably 5 or 6) was at your house, your mom made it for us – I think there was always sweet tea at your house, God Bless.

  6. I am thankful for your mother’s long life, Duane, and for her loving example which made you such a great husband, father, and human being. So sorry for your loss.

  7. What a treasure Becky was to so many! A shining example for all those whom were blessed to know or meet this lovely lady none of us will forget.

  8. Although the miles kept us apart, I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your families. I remember her fondly and always admired her. She was a lady to look up to and be inspired by. She will be missed.

  9. Ms. Becky was a blessing to us all. We will miss her tremendously. I loved talking with her in the short but special time I got to know her.

  10. We are so sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort continue to be with you and your family during this time. We all look forward to a better day when death will be no more-Rev 21:4. Our prayers are with you.
