Robert graduated from Murphy High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971, earning an honorable discharge. He dedicated 42 years of his career as a digital technician for AT&T, where his expertise and intelligence were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Robert was a man of many passions, including golfing, bowling, and a deep love for sports, especially baseball and football. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and never missed a game, cheering them on with the same devotion he gave to everything in his life.
A man of quiet strength, Robert was known for his gentle soul, easygoing nature, and sharp mind. He was an excellent mathematician, whose brilliance was only surpassed by his capacity to love and care for others. Robert had a unique ability to make everyone feel safe, loved, and valued. His family and friends cherished his thoughtful, kind-hearted spirit and his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need.
Robert’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Jerri Brantley; daughter, Jennifer Ford; granddaughter, Kimberley West; grandson, Kristopher West; granddaughter, Alison Ford; grandson, Joe Ford; and great-grandson, Oliver West. His love and wisdom will continue to guide and comfort them as they carry on his legacy of kindness and generosity.
There are no services scheduled at this time, but Robert’s family and friends will hold him close in their hearts, remembering the gentle man who loved unconditionally and made the world a better place for all who had the privilege to know him.
