The day MLK was shot, April 1968, we were deployed to Washington, D.C., that night. We flew in on a C130, two East Atlanta Boys not knowing what was ahead of us. We patrolled the city together in a jeep for several days as Martial Law was in effect. Spent that Easter Sunday together bivouacked on Potomac Point Golf Course at Haynes Point, next to the Jefferson Memorial. We were on riot control duty that Spring & Summer in Washington. Ronnie served his country with honor. ‘Only the good die young’….RIP Ole Friend
