April 27, 1945 ~ February 20, 2020

Born in: Paris, TX
Resided in: Atlanta, GA

Victoria Sloan Pickett passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on February 20, 2020. Born in Paris, Texas in 1945, her parents moved back home to Atlanta shortly after. During her childhood years, she and her family were members of Capitol View Baptist Church, she attended Capitol View Grammar School and went on to Sylvan Hills High School where she was a cheerleader.

She married Michael Pickett on August 8, 1964 and they were blessed to welcome twin girls in July 1969. She was a devoted mother and was involved as a homeroom mom during her daughters’ school years, as well as a library aide and an active member of the PTA. Victoria was also the team mom for their numerous sports teams, never missing a game or match and she, herself, was an avid tennis player for much of her adult life.

When she became a grandmother in 2002, she was so excited to have the opportunity to help her only grandchild, Ryan, with school projects and support him in his school and sports activities.

Throughout her life, Victoria was a lover of animals of all kinds and she rescued and found homes for a countless number. She cherished her friends, many of whom were lifelong, going back to “cradle roll” (nursery school).

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Kerry Lynn Pickett (Frank King) and Kasey Pickett Kirschner (Mike) and her loving grandson, Ryan Michael Kirschner.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Adopt a Golden Atlanta (http://www.adoptagoldenatlanta.com/inmemoryof.aspx) or the Atlanta Humane Society (https://secure.atlantahumane.org/site/Donation2?1080.donation=form1&df_id=1080&mfc_pref=T&s_src=navmenu&s_subsrc=donate&_ga=2.89143580.601861516.1582214460-227321564.1582214459) would be appreciated.

At Victoria’s request, she will be cremated. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Victoria’s life at the home of Mike and Kasey Kirschner (3682 Canyon Ridge Court, Atlanta) on Saturday, April 18 from 2 – 5 p.m.
